He’s the leader of the pack now.
Every morning, Hilarie sets out for a walk with her two dogs, Emmie and Gunny. But before long, their trio becomes a quartet — thanks to a surprise visitor who never fails to find them.
“He always finds us,” Hilarie says. “He’ll just pop out of a shrub.”
That visitor is Oliver, the neighbor’s sociable cat, who has decided that rain or shine, he’s going on that walk too.
At this point, Oliver’s daily appearance is part of the routine. He trots up, confidently takes the lead, and strolls beside the pups as if he were one of them. “Oftentimes he goes out in front, like he’s the leader,” Hilarie says.
But it’s not just about the walk — it’s about friendship. While Oliver enjoys the whole pack, he and Gunny share a particularly close bond. “As soon as we start our walk, they look for each other,” Hilarie says. “When they greet, Oliver makes sure to touch Gunny with his tail.”
Hilarie often captures their heartwarming interactions on her Instagram, where fans can watch Oliver’s signature “hello” and his sweet cat hugs.
“He’s just one of the family,” she says. And with every step, tail flick, and soft meow, Oliver proves it.
