“It’s wonderful to see how deeply they care for each other.”
Approximately eight years ago, when Tiger, a six-year-old dog, experienced a significant change in her happy home life.
It became even happier. Around that time, Tigerβs mom, Jean TwoHawks Munn, adopted a new kitten, a sweet cat named Akaiba.
For Tiger, it was love at first sight.
“Tiger was instantly obsessed with her!” Munn said. “They were best friends right from the start.”
And it was evident.
Nowadays, eight years later, Tiger is very much a senior dog at age 14. She’s slowed down a bit physically, as to be expected, but the love she shares with Akaiba has not faded.
In fact, it has only grown deeper.
Tiger and Akaiba have the sweetest nightly ritual to prove it.
As twilight descends, Tiger, now a wise 14-year-old, approaches her feline confidant with a gentle nudge, signaling the start of their nightly ritual.
“In the quiet moments before sleep, Tiger seeks solace in grooming Akaiba,” Munn shared. “It’s a ritual they’ve cherished for years, a testament to their enduring bond. Tiger cared for Akaiba in her kitten days, and now, as the sun sets on their years together, Akaiba returns the favor.”
Their nightly grooming sessions speak volumes of the unspoken language of love between them, affirming their status as lifelong soulmates.
When their mom first brought them together all those years ago, she had harbored some concern about the stereotypical dog-cat dynamics potentially causing conflict between them. But her worries were unfounded.
“It’s truly heartwarming to witness the depth of their love for each other,” Munn reflected.
