“[He] refused to look the other way.”
A few months ago, Bryan was driving through Alabama on his way to a search-and-rescue training course when he came across a situation that needed his help right away.
While passing through a wooded area, he noticed a small puppy near the side of the road. Something about the scene did not feel right, so Bryan pulled over to take a closer look.
A Heartbreaking Discovery In The Woods
As Bryan approached, two more puppies suddenly came out from the brush. Then he noticed a box nearby and realized the puppies had likely been abandoned there.
Instead of driving away, Bryan acted quickly. He gathered the puppies, brought them to safety, and contacted Rural Animal Rescue Effort, also known as RARE, for help.
Seven Puppies Were Given A Second Chance

In total, Bryan found seven abandoned puppies that day. Thanks to his compassion and fast response, all of them were rescued before they could face more danger.
Over the next few months, the puppies began to recover, grow, and show their true personalities. Once scared and alone, they slowly turned into happy, loving dogs.
Lily And Rose Are Still Looking For Homes
Most of the puppies have already found caring families, but two sisters, Lily and Rose, are still waiting for their forever homes.
According to RARE, both girls are sweet, affectionate, playful, and full of love. They have come a long way since the day they were found and are now ready for families who will give them the safe and happy lives they deserve.
One Kind Choice Changed Everything
If Bryan had not stopped that day, things could have ended very differently for Lily, Rose, and their littermates.
Because one stranger chose not to look away, seven abandoned puppies were given a second chance at life.
