A Wedding Sealed with Paw Prints
When Elizabeth Lutz and Zack Villarreal married last November, their wedding wasnβt just about the couple β it was a celebration of their dogs, past and present.

Their love story began five years ago during a walk with Lutzβs two pups, Zero and Bisky. The dogs excitedly greeted Villarrealβs dachshund, Charlie, tangling their leashes and sparking conversations between the soon-to-be couple.

From that day, dog walks became their pretext to meet, joke, and bond β a real-life β101 Dalmatiansβ moment.

Tragedy struck when Zero developed kidney failure, but Villarreal stepped in to help with treatments and care, showing his deep love for both Lutz and her pets. Zero passed away in 2021, and the pair went on to adopt four more dogs and four cats, as well as fostering whenever they could.

At their wedding, Charlie and Bisky were front and center. The dogs wore a ring-box bow tie and a flower necklace, posed for photos in backpacks, and even had a sign reading βWe do too!β alongside the coupleβs βWe said I do.β

Lutz and Villarreal also honored Zero and Piper, a dog they had adopted together who passed away in 2024, with charms containing their ashes attached to the bouquet and boutonniere.
βIncluding them wasnβt a detail. It was a reflection of who we are and the life weβve built together. Bisky and Charlieβs paw prints seal our marriage forever,β Lutz said.
Their wedding beautifully illustrated that love extends beyond two people β itβs built within the family you choose, furry members included.
