Ted’s in it for himself.
Cleaning up around Juliana Lima Queiroz’s home in Brazil isn’t always a breeze — not because of a lack of help, but because one family member insists on turning tidying up into a personal pampering session.
That family member is Ted, her lovable 7-year-old dog.
For years, Ted had no interest in chores. While the rest of the household swept, scrubbed, and organized, he’d lounge around peacefully, often napping through the action. But that changed one day when Queiroz’s husband swept near him and the broom lightly brushed against his fur.

Something about that moment clicked for Ted.
“He started chasing the broom, trying to get in its path so we’d sweep over him,” Queiroz told The Dodo. “Since then, he demands it daily.”
Ted doesn’t have any illusions about being helpful — he’s not cleaning, he’s soaking up the attention.
His humans, though, are happy to give in to the ritual.
“It’s no trouble at all,” Queiroz said. “We love that he found something he enjoys so much. Now, sweeping the porch always includes sweeping Ted, too.”
In Ted’s world, housework isn’t a chore — it’s a chance for cuddly broom bristles and a little daily joy.
