Choosing a new lounge chair usually comes down to basics like color, fabric, and whether it reclines. But for one devoted dog owner, comfort isn’t just about his own needs — it has to be the perfect spot for his furry friend, too.
Earlier this month, TikTok user Sam shared a video of her uncle testing chairs at a furniture store. Though he reportedly wasn’t always a dog person, these days his canine companion is clearly front and center in his mind — even when selecting living room furniture. The clip, showing his sweet test run with his pup in mind, quickly went viral, amassing over 13 million views and warming hearts across the internet.
Whether or not that specific chair made the cut is unclear. But his thoughtful approach struck a chord with fellow pet lovers — and he’s not alone in this sentiment.
In fact, a few years ago, Aleecia Dahl’s grandfather took the idea even further. When shopping for a new lounge chair, he brought along his dog, Coco, to help him decide.
“It was non-negotiable for Grandpa — the footrest needed to be wide enough for both him and Coco to sit together comfortably,” Dahl told The Dodo.
Thankfully, the duo found the perfect chair that met their shared requirements. And hopefully, Sam’s uncle was just as successful in finding a cozy seat made for two — man and dog alike.
