He couldnβt bear another day without her β€οΈ
On a rainy November day in Cleethorpes, England, volunteers from Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue (CWR) discovered a mute swan in distress, suffering from a painful fishing accident. The bird had been snagged by a barbed fishing lure lodged in her neck, causing significant injury.
CWR volunteers quickly assessed the situation and knew immediate action was needed. They carefully corralled the swan and worked to dislodge the sharp hook, fully aware of the dangers it posed to the bird. “Barbed hooks can cause serious injuries to birds,” CWR wrote on Facebook, expressing relief that the swan was rescued in time.
Recognizing the severity of the situation, the volunteers called in their wildlife ambulance for additional help. The first responders arrived swiftly, and after a thorough examination, they safely cut away the barb to remove the hook.
Once the swan was freed from the lure, the wildlife team determined she was healthy enough to return to the wild. As soon as she entered the water, her mate eagerly swam to her, wings spread wide in joyful recognition.
After receiving care from the dedicated rescuers, the mute swan was reunited with her partner. CWR shared that the pair was overjoyed, with the male swan clearly thrilled to have her back.
Now, several days later, the swan is doing well, her mate by her side and the rescue team closely monitoring her recovery. Sheβs back to her peaceful life in her favorite lake, enjoying the calm waters with her beloved partner, day by day.
