Tuna wasn’t bothered in the least.
Last month, Aaron Young and his wife left their cats, Tuna and Pearl, at home while they went away for a few days. Little did they know, their absence would bring an unexpected visitor.
The couple, equipped with a camera to keep an eye on their feline companions, began receiving more motion alerts than usual. Curious, they checked the footage.

โMy wife is obsessed with our cats and loves to check in constantly to see what they are doing,โ Young told The Dodo. โWe started going through the alerts.โ
What they discovered was both surprising and hilariousโa raccoon had entered their home through the cat flap and made himself at home.
โThe funniest part to us was that Tuna was so relaxed about the whole situation,โ Young said. โWe couldnโt believe he just sat there and watched.โ
For about four hours, the raccoon explored the house, snacked on the cats’ food, and even lounged on the couch. Eventually, the uninvited guest left the same way heโd come in, leaving behind an amused (and slightly baffled) family.
Tunaโs title as “guard cat” may now be questionable, but the Youngs arenโt holding it against him. โI thought it was hysterical,โ Young said. โI got a kick out of it.โ
While the raccoon’s visit was harmless, the Youngs will likely keep a closer eye on their cat flap in the futureโjust in case their furry guests get any more ideas.
