A fox got its head stuck in a fence gap.

On Monday, she was discovered firmly trapped in a fence near Laindon, Essex, with her feet barely reaching the ground, according to rescuers from South Essex Wildlife Hospital in Grays.

Staff successfully freed her, noting that time was running out as she was stuck. Remarkably, she emerged from the ordeal unharmed and was promptly released back into the wild.

Sharing images on Facebook, hospital staff suggested the fox had misjudged a leap between fence panels, sliding into the tight space where she became wedged.

The fox’s head snugly fit in the narrow space between two adjoining fence panels.

The hospital’s ambulance crew orchestrated her liberation by delicately cradling her hindquarters and gently manipulating her neck.

“Though initial concerns loomed about potential injuries from constriction or friction, she astoundingly emerged unharmed and was swiftly reunited with her wild surroundings,” they recounted.
