When Chani Yeza and a few friends decided to take a boat ride through a delta near their home in Argentina, they never imagined their day would include an unexpected addition to their group.
The adventure took a surprising turn when they noticed a swimmer struggling in the distance. To their amazement, it was a dog paddling alone in the middle of the delta, making his way toward their boat.
How the dog ended up so far from shore, with no other boats or people in sight, remains a mystery. But Yeza and his companions quickly recognized that the exhausted pup needed their help.
They immediately slowed the boat, sprang into action, and entered the water to bring the weary dog aboard. With their new furry passenger safely on deck, the group resumed their outing, now accompanied by the lucky rescue dog.
“We named him Delta because that’s where we found him,” Yeza told The Dodo.
Presumably abandoned nearby, Delta was now safe. Determined to ensure a better future for him, Yeza made arrangements for the dog’s care after their boating trip came to an end.
“We found a wonderful woman who runs an animal sanctuary, and she was thrilled to take him in,” Yeza explained. “Delta is now in excellent hands.”
