A family in Derby, England, has experienced an emotional reunion after a missing cat returned home years after vanishing.
Danielle Arme was devastated in July 2021 when her young cat, Bodhi, suddenly disappeared. To make things even worse, Bodhiβs brother Braxon went missing as well, leaving the household heartbroken.
Danielle searched everywhere. She posted flyers around her neighborhood, spoke with local residents, and tried everything she could think of to find the two gray tabby brothers.
A few weeks later, Braxon was found β but Bodhi was nowhere to be seen. As time passed, the family eventually had to accept the painful possibility that he might never come back. Later, they moved away.
Then, completely out of the blue, Danielle received a call from a veterinarian saying Bodhi had been found about 20 miles from where he first disappeared.

She said she immediately burst into tears and could hardly believe it was real. After so many years, hearing that Bodhi was alive felt almost impossible.
When they were finally reunited, Danielle called his name, and Bodhi walked right over to her. She said it felt like a scene from a movie as he rubbed his head against her and purred, showing affection as though no time had passed at all.
Danielle had adopted Bodhi and Braxon from the same litter in 2020. She believes the two may have been taken and later abandoned far from home, especially since several other cats in the area had also mysteriously disappeared around that time.
People in the neighborhood suspected someone might be responsible, but no evidence ever surfaced, so police were not involved.
After Braxon was found months later wandering in Uttoxeter, around 20 miles away, Danielle shared another post online about Bodhi in the hope that someone in the area might recognize him.
Years went by with no answers, until a woman named Viccie Mahon contacted Danielle through Facebook last week. She asked whether Bodhi had ever been found.

Viccie explained that she believed the cat had been living near her cottage, often staying under her carport. She had apparently been trying to track down the family since the previous year, but Danielle had moved twice and Bodhiβs microchip information had not been updated.
Eventually, Viccie searched Bodhiβs name online and came across one of Danielleβs old missing-cat posts. That is how she was finally able to make contact.
Danielle described the discovery as nothing less than a miracle.
Now that Bodhi is back home, she has decided to keep him indoors and plans to watch over him closely from now on.
