On a scorching summer day in Los Angeles, California, Suzette Hall, the founder of Loganโ€™s Legacy 29, received an urgent call that tugged at her heart. A compassionate passerby had spotted a bedraggled white dog resting in a parking lot, too weary to move despite being fully aware of her surroundings.

Hall, accompanied by her dedicated volunteers Mary Nakiso and Rosario Ortiz, arrived at the scene, only to find the poor pup still lying where she had been discovered. The sight of the exhausted dog broke their hearts.

“When I arrived, she was sleeping despite the pain,” Hall shared on Facebook. “She lay there so courageously.”

The team didnโ€™t know how long the dog had been in the parking lot or what ordeals she had faced, but they knew they had to act quickly. They set up baby gates to create a safe space around her, intending to coax her to safety.

Startled, the frightened dog limped away, heading into the bustling street behind them. Though she initially resisted their help, a gentle gesture changed everything.

โ€œI spoke to her calmly, and managed to slip a leash around her neck,โ€ Hall recounted. โ€œShe was so sweet and clearly relieved to finally receive help.โ€

Hall gently carried the dog to Camino Pet Hospital, where the medical team performed thorough examinations. It was discovered that the dog had likely been hit by a car during her time in the parking lot, leaving her with a broken leg.

The hospital staff cleaned her up and fitted her with a cast before joining Hall in the search for her owners. It wasnโ€™t long before they tracked down her family and uncovered the story behind her ordeal.

โ€œShe had been missing for six days,โ€ Hall revealed on Facebook.

The dog, whose name was Maisie, had wandered away from home and couldnโ€™t find her way back. After the car accident, she sought refuge in the quiet parking lot, hoping her family would find her there.

Maisieโ€™s mom was overwhelmed with joy upon hearing that her beloved pet had been found. She rushed to the hospital for a tearful reunion with her long-lost companion. Maisieโ€™s reaction was nothing short of heartwarming.

โ€œSweet Maisie was overjoyed to see her mom, and her mom was equally ecstatic to be reunited with her,โ€ Hall wrote. โ€œIt was an incredibly touching and beautiful moment.โ€

As Maisie showered her mom with enthusiastic kisses, her tail wagging faster than ever, it was clear that the once-despairing dog was finally at peace in her motherโ€™s arms.
