When Chelsea Peretti met her Dodo Dream Date, Max, their connection took a little time to bloom. At 10 years old, Max had been found as a stray—a jarring experience for any dog. Understandably, he was shy and a bit overwhelmed during their first meeting, but Chelsea’s patience and warmth soon helped him relax.
“Cameras really are unnerving,” Chelsea joked during their date. “Max is helping me understand my relationship to Hollywood!”
Armed with plenty of treats, compliments, and affection, Chelsea drew Max out of his shell. She couldn’t help but admire his charming quirks, noting, “His little ears look like little feathers. You’re just a little superhero!”
As their bond deepened, Chelsea invited a pet medium, Libby, to join them for a reading about Max’s personality and future. Libby revealed that Max had a curious and busybody nature, always wanting to know what was happening around him.
“Do you hear this?” Chelsea laughed. “She’s calling you a gossip!”
After their reading, the pair enjoyed snacks and a coffee break, giving Chelsea a chance to share stories about her podcast, CALL CHELSEA PERETTI, which her own dog once co-hosted. She even suggested a future guest spot for Max if he found a happy home in Los Angeles.
Their date ended with a creative pawprint craft and a special meal of Hill’s Science Diet for Adult Dogs. As Max trotted off for more adventures, Chelsea joked that he might already be off to find his forever home—and she wasn’t wrong.
Shortly after their date, Max was adopted and found his happily-ever-after. Chelsea couldn’t be more thrilled, knowing she played a part in Max’s journey to love and security.
From a nervous start to a heartwarming ending, Max’s story proves that a little patience and care can make all the difference.
