“Life will never be dull with Leo” 😅
Meet Leo — an unforgettable feline currently available for adoption at Prairie Paws Animal Shelter in Ottawa, Kansas.
Leo’s caregivers at the shelter are determined to find him a loving forever home. However, they aren’t sugarcoating his quirks.
This cat is a bundle of contradictions. When introducing Leo’s personality to potential adopters, the shelter staff chose a refreshingly candid — yet undeniably charming — approach.
“Looking for a lap cat? Keep searching. Need a cuddle companion? That’s not me. Want a sweet little ray of sunshine? Think again,” reads the shelter’s review of Leo. “He’s sweet, but he’s also spicy. He’s calm, then suddenly feisty. Our Leo often doesn’t quite know how he’s feeling.”
While many cats are known for their unpredictable nature, shifting from purring to playful swats with little notice, Leo seems to take this to a whole new level.
“One moment he’s friendly, and the next he’s not. He can be a ray of sunshine … and then the storm,” the shelter staff noted. “He needs someone who can appreciate his mood swings and love him regardless.”
The shelter’s assessment of Leo goes on:
“He’s a real head-turner … as handsome as they come. And his personality? Well, he’s got plenty of it … maybe even more than one! One moment, he’s purring contentedly, and the next, he’s irked. He’ll approach you for attention but might growl when you reach out to pet him.”
When the mood does strike Leo to accept affection, however, it’s well worth the risk.
Pure bliss.
“He’s sure to keep you on your toes. Life will never be dull with Leo,” his caretakers wrote.
Ideally, Leo would find a home where he’s the only pet, and without young children. His larger-than-life personality (or should we say personalities) demands the spotlight all to himself. There’s another reason too:
“He shows no mercy, treating anything small as a worthy wrestling opponent,” the shelter noted.
It’s crucial to remember that Leo is likely experiencing some stress — after all, he’s currently without a home. With time and the comfort of a loving family, he may very well calm down and show a softer side.
But there’s only one way to know for sure.
“Life is short, add some spice. Adopt Leo,” the shelter urged. “We adore Leo, and we’re certain someone out there will too.”
