Despite the demands of veterinary school, a 24-year-old woman in California has taken on the challenge of fostering an extremely overweight dog, captivating thousands on Instagram with their transformative journey.

When Annika Bram first encountered Frannie, a neglected golden retriever suffering from obesity, pneumonia, and hyperthyroidism, she felt a deep connection. Having successfully helped her late dog Georgia shed 85 pounds, Bram knew she could make a difference in Frannie’s life.

Moved by Frannie’s plight and determined to save her from euthanasia, Bram offered to foster her through Rover’s Retreat, a canine rescue organization. Despite Frannie’s dire condition, Bram’s unwavering commitment and expertise convinced the rescue group she was the perfect caregiver.

Documenting Frannie’s progress on social media, Bram’s dedication garnered widespread attention. Through a regimen of rehabilitation exercises, thyroid medication, and a carefully monitored diet, Frannie began to shed pounds and reveal her true personality.

With Frannie’s rehabilitation progressing well, Bram has applied to adopt her permanently. Already exceeding expectations on her daily walks and shedding pounds steadily, Frannie’s journey from neglect to vitality serves as a testament to the transformative power of love and commitment.
