He’s been waiting over 427 days for a home.
When Jude was rescued, it was clear that healing would take time.
He had been discovered inside a home with eight other dogs and several snakes, all living in extremely poor conditions. There was no electricity and no clean drinking water, leaving the animals to spend their days in complete darkness.
The RSPCA eventually stepped in and removed the animals from the property. Jude was taken to the RSPCA Leybourne Animal Centre, where staff began helping him adjust to a completely different life.

At first, even the simplest things were unfamiliar to him.
Jude didn’t understand what toys were, had never learned how to walk properly on a leash and didn’t even recognize his own name. After spending so much of his life without normal care or interaction, he had a lot to learn about simply being a dog.

But his rescuers refused to give up on him.
With patience, affection and plenty of encouragement, Jude slowly began coming out of his shell. Before long, he was chasing toys, enjoying walks and discovering how much fun it could be to interact and play with other dogs.
The transformation amazed the people caring for him.
βWith lots of time, understanding and patience, Jude has absolutely blown us away with his progress,β said Renee Lodde, manager of the RSPCA Leybourne Animal Centre. βHe has really transformed.β
After everything Jude had overcome, staff hoped finding a permanent family would be the easiest part of his journey.

Instead, he continued waiting.
More than 427 days passed without Jude finding the forever home everyone believed he deserved.
Although his past left him with a few things still to learn, Jude has already shown just how quickly he can adapt. His ideal home would have a secure, fenced yard and no other pets or young children. He may also need some guidance with house training, since living inside a normal home is still a relatively new experience for him.
Those who know Jude say he is eager to learn and wants nothing more than affection
