A Normal Ride Turns Into A Rescue
Diego’s ride home from work last Tuesday started like any ordinary motorcycle commute. He was traveling along a busy highway when he noticed something strange ahead — traffic in the left lane had suddenly slowed down and come to a stop.
As he carefully moved past the line of cars, he saw something small in the road. At first, it looked like a bag, a piece of trash or some kind of debris. But when it moved, Diego realized the truth.
It was a tiny kitten, lying helplessly in the middle of traffic.
No Time To Think
The moment Diego understood what he was seeing, he knew he had to act. Cars were all around, and the kitten was in serious danger.

He quickly pulled into the emergency lane, parked his motorcycle and ran back toward the kitten as fast as he could. In that moment, nothing mattered except getting the little animal off the highway safely.
Luckily, another driver had already stopped and was helping block traffic, giving Diego just enough time to reach the kitten.
Safe In His Arms
Diego scooped up the frightened baby and carried him back to his motorcycle on the shoulder of the road. Once the kitten was safely in his hands, Diego checked him over and was relieved to see that he did not appear to have any visible injuries.

He believed the kitten may not have been thrown or dropped from a car, but could have been hiding inside someone’s engine area before falling onto the road.
Either way, the kitten was lucky to be alive.
A Careful Ride Home
Diego first thought about putting the kitten in his work bag for the rest of the ride, but decided the safest place was inside his jacket.

With only a few miles left to go, he rode home carefully, keeping one hand on the handlebars and the other gently resting against the kitten. To his surprise, the little one stayed calm the entire way.
The kitten nestled into Diego’s side, as if he understood he was finally safe.
Lucky Gets His Name
When Diego arrived home, he placed the kitten in a guest bedroom so he could calm down and adjust. The frightened kitten quickly ran into the closet and hid, hissing whenever Diego came near.
Diego named him Lucky — a perfect name for a kitten who had survived the middle of a highway.

Even though Lucky was scared at first, Diego didn’t give up. He checked on him every hour, speaking gently and trying to make him feel comfortable.
Slowly Learning To Trust
After a few hours, Lucky began to relax. He stopped hissing and eventually allowed Diego to hold him.
For Diego, it was a sweet moment. The same kitten who had been terrified and alone on the road was now beginning to understand that he was safe.
But there was one person in the house Lucky connected with almost instantly.
A Special Bond With Allison
Diego’s young daughter, Allison, has always loved animals, and she was immediately curious about the new kitten. She wanted to see him, pet him and spend time with him.
Before long, Allison and Lucky became inseparable. Diego noticed just how attached she had become when she started asking for the kitten first thing in the morning.
At that point, he knew Lucky had already found his place in their family.
Right Where He Belongs
At first, Diego had not planned to keep the kitten. He simply wanted to save him and make sure he was safe. But once he saw the bond between Lucky and Allison, everything changed.
Lucky is now officially part of Diego’s family, and they can no longer imagine their home without him.
Many people have praised Diego for stopping in the middle of a dangerous highway to save a tiny kitten, but to him, it was simply the right thing to do.
He has always had a soft spot for animals in need — and Lucky just happened to be one more life he could not leave behind.
