Watch him reunite with his mama ❤️

Late last month in Wisconsin, a woman named Lindsay headed into her garage for a quick drink — only to find she wasn’t alone. Sitting right at her feet was a tiny baby robin, staring up at her with what could only be described as the grumpiest little bird expression she had ever seen.

“I opened the door, and it was right there,” Lindsay told The Dodo. “He looked at me like, ‘Hi, can you help me find my mom?’”

Unsure how the little bird had gotten inside, Lindsay first made sure her dog was safely crated so he couldn’t accidentally harm the feathered visitor. The baby robin, meanwhile, wasted no time letting her know what he wanted — food. “The first thing I noticed was that he really opened his mouth like, ‘Feed me,’” she said.

It didn’t take long for Lindsay and her husband, a bird enthusiast, to piece together what had happened. The day before, her husband had been working in the garage with the door open. The chick must have wandered in unnoticed, and when the door closed, he was accidentally trapped inside for the night.

Worried for the bird’s safety, Lindsay pulled on a pair of gloves and gently carried him outside. She offered a little water and was even prepared to dig up worms for him — but nature beat her to it. Within minutes, a robin appeared, chirping urgently. Somehow, the mother had been nearby all along, listening for her chick’s calls.

Lindsay stood back and watched as the reunion unfolded. The mother hopped over and, without hesitation, popped a worm into her baby’s waiting beak. The pair then darted off together toward the trees, the little robin’s earlier grumpiness replaced by obvious relief.

“It was adorable,” Lindsay said, still smiling at the memory. What had begun as a surprising encounter in the garage had turned into a front-row seat to one of nature’s sweetest reunions.
