Meet Luca Arpin: Poopa Scoopa Extraordinaire
Luca Arpin, affectionately known to his neighbors as βPoopa Scoopa Luca,β is making a name for himself in Warwick, Massachusetts. At just 6 years old, he has taken on the important task of being the neighborhood’s go-to cleanup crew for pet waste.
A Passion for Cleanliness
Luca believes that many people dislike picking up after their dogs and cats. βPeople hate picking up dog poop,β he explains during an interview with WJAR. With a strong appreciation for all things tidy, he finds joy in cleaning up β a preference that sets him apart from most kids his age.
The Business of Cleanup
Luca has established his own little business, charging $15 for cleaning up after one dog and $20 for multiple pets. Heβs even gone the extra mile by creating his own business card, solidifying his status as the neighborhood’s pet waste management expert.
Family Values and Animal Love
Luca’s mother emphasizes that volunteering is a core value in their family. Together, she and Luca share a deep love for animals, having fostered an impressive 98 pets through her work at a local animal shelter.
Turning Passion into Purpose
Luca’s helpful nature extends beyond just cleaning. As the first to fold laundry or mop a floor, his desire to assist at the shelter led to a new venture: earning money to adopt a cat. βHow can I earn some money?β he asked his mom. They quickly decided on the “poo patrol” as a way for him to raise funds.
A Dream Comes True
Proud of her son, Luca’s mother beams, βI have the coolest kid in the entire world.β It didnβt take long for Luca to save enough money to adopt a little female kitten named Pebble, whom he felt he couldnβt live without. He continues to work diligently, raising funds to help even more animals in need.
