Vallejo police retrieved snake in car after 10-mile chase in crackdown of sideshow involving roughly 500 vehicles

A surprising find emerged from a recent crackdown on an illegal sideshow in the San Francisco Bay Area: a ten-foot python. Authorities discovered the snake inside a vehicle after pursuing it through the city of Vallejo.

The Vallejo Police Department reported that they received numerous calls around 11:12 p.m. on Friday about a massive sideshow involving approximately 500 vehicles. The drivers were reportedly blocking traffic, using lasers to dazzle other motorists, and performing dangerous stunts.

Police attempted to pull over a Cadillac whose occupants were shining lasers into officers’ eyes. This led to a high-speed chase spanning 10 miles (16 km) to the city of Hercules, where the driver and three passengers abandoned the vehicle.

Upon inspecting the abandoned car, officers found the large python. The driver was arrested on charges of felony evading, while the passengers received misdemeanor citations.
