When UK travelers James Khan and Siana Louise began their RV adventure through Florida, they imagined scenic roads, new places, and memorable experiences. What they never expected was that their trip would lead them to a frightened little dog who would soon become part of their family.
While driving along a quiet highway near Perry, Florida, Khan noticed something unusual from the corner of his eye. It was just a quick glimpse, but it was enough to make him feel that something wasn’t right.
He immediately turned the RV around to take a closer look.
A Scared Dog Left Alone
When the couple returned, they spotted a small dog near the roadside. Startled by the large RV, the pup had run about 50 yards away, but she was still visible in the distance.
Khan and Louise quickly realized the dog had likely been abandoned. She was thin, nervous, and appeared to have been surviving on her own for some time.
Louise was heartbroken by the sight and could not understand how anyone could leave a helpless animal in such a dangerous situation.
Gaining Her Trust
The couple knew they had to help, but the frightened dog was unsure whether she could trust them. Khan and Louise patiently tried to encourage her to come closer, speaking gently and giving her space.
Little by little, the pup began to approach. Then her tail started wagging, giving the couple hope that she understood they were there to help.
Eventually, she allowed them to pet her and climbed into the RV.

The couple named the dog Perry, after the area where they found her. Once she was inside the RV and realized she was safe, her personality began to change almost immediately.
She curled up in Louise’s lap and seemed to relax for the first time in a long while. Khan and Louise could tell she felt comforted by them.
From Florida To The UK
After discovering that Perry did not have a microchip, the couple knew they wanted to adopt her. They completed the required paperwork and later brought her home with them to the UK.
Perry quickly settled into her new life. She became friendly, energetic, and eager to meet everyone around her — both people and other dogs.
The Missing Piece Of Their Family
Six months after rescuing Perry, Khan and Louise still feel amazed by the timing of their encounter. They believe they found her exactly when she needed help the most.
What began as an ordinary RV trip turned into a life-changing rescue. For Khan and Louise, Perry was not just a dog they saved — she became the family member they never knew they were missing.
