They were so confused …
During a charity walk in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park, a group of people noticed something strange:
👉 A green delivery bag sitting under a bench.
At first, it seemed harmless.
But something didn’t feel right.
👀 A Suspicious Discovery
Curious, they opened the bag…
And were shocked to find:
- Two cats inside
- Clearly abandoned
- Scared and confused
Not knowing what else to do, they made a decision:
👉 They carried the bag with them for the entire 5K walk.
🐾 Then There Were Three
As they continued walking, someone nearby found:
- An orange cat wandering alone
Soon, it became clear:
👉 That cat had also been in the bag.
And when they reunited them?
He jumped right back in with the other two.
💔 A Difficult Situation
Rescuer Dana Heis later took the cats in.
She believes:
👉 Whoever left them may have hoped someone would find them
But still — leaving them in a park was incredibly risky.
🏥 Safe At Last
At the rescue, the cats were:
- Nervous at first
- Tired after everything they’d been through
But soon, their true personalities showed:

👉 Friendly
👉 Grateful to be safe indoors

Given how they were found, Heis gave them fitting names:
- Grubhub
- Seamless
- DoorDash
🏡 A Fresh Start
Within hours:
- All three were placed in foster homes
- Given medical care and attention
- Finally able to relax
DoorDash has already found a long-term home, while the others are still waiting for theirs.

While this story ended well, it could have gone very differently.
