It’s the one word he’s supposed to know.

From gentle mews to full-on meows, to all the purrs and chirps in between, the vocabulary of felines is always expressive and, for the most part, predictable.

This cat named Prince, however, pronounces his โ€œwordsโ€ a little differently than most.

After adopting Prince two years ago, his mom, Amanda, noticed right away that he sounded unlike her other cats.

โ€œI was really surprised when I first heard how he meows,โ€ Amanda said. โ€œItโ€™s very distinct.โ€

Amanda couldnโ€™t quite put her finger on what it was exactly that made Princeโ€™s meow stand out so much. But then, after sharing a video of Prince online, her followers noticed the hilarious truth: He wasnโ€™t saying โ€œmeowโ€ at all.

โ€œA lot of people pointed out that he was saying โ€˜cow,โ€™โ€ Amanda said. โ€œThatโ€™s when I realized he actually does sound like he’s saying โ€˜cow.โ€™โ€

Hereโ€™s footage of Prince โ€œcowingโ€:

Turns out, Prince has been โ€œmispronouncingโ€ the one word he’s expected to know โ€” but that only makes him all the more charming.

When Amanda hears those happy โ€œcows,โ€ she knows Prince loves her and wants her attention.

And just by doing things a little differently, Prince has brought smiles to the faces of viewers around the world.

โ€œIโ€™m just amazed by the number of people who actually hear it and agree that his meow sounds like โ€˜cow,โ€™โ€ Amanda said.
