It was the best surprise πŸŽ‰

For more than six years, a hardworking dog named Whisky served with the Australian Border Force (ABF), using her incredible nose to detect and intercept illegal items before they could enter the country.

Throughout her career, Whisky became a beloved member of the team, earning respect not just for her skill, but also for her loyal and cheerful presence on the job.

Recently, however, Whisky officially retired β€” and her coworkers made sure her final days in uniform were unforgettable.

At Cairns Airport, ABF staff surprised Whisky with a special retirement celebration. Before the party began, she was guided to inspect what would be her very last package on duty, completely unaware that a joyful surprise was waiting for her.

Moments later, Whisky was met with cheers, treats and a cake, marking the end of her impressive career in the most heartwarming way possible.

And while her working days are over, Whisky’s next chapter is just beginning.

She has been welcomed into the home of one of her former handlers, Mitchell Coomer, where she’ll enjoy a life filled with love, playtime and relaxation.

β€œWe’ve spoiled her already with toys,” Coomer told NT News. β€œShe’ll be going to the beach, on daily walks, playing fetch β€” just enjoying life.”

After years of dedicated service, Whisky is finally getting the reward she deserves: a happy, carefree retirement surrounded by family and fun.
