βWe canβt wait for this glow up!β π€©
In early November, a kind stranger showed up at Stray Rescue of St. Louis (SRSL) carrying a tiny puppy who clearly needed help. The moment staff saw the 4-month-old dogβs pink, wrinkled skin and thin patches of fur, they understood the issue right away.
βAnother little one with mange,β SRSL posted on Facebook. βSheβs missing almost all of her hair.β
The French bulldog mix was swollen and irritated everywhere, but sadly, SRSL had seen many pups arrive in similar shape before.

No one knew exactly what her life had been like before, but the team could tell she was finally somewhere safe.
βHer little wrinkly forehead makes her look so unsure, but sheβll soon realize sheβs in the best place possible,β the rescue shared.
The staff named her Pebble and began a careful treatment plan right away, including daily soothing baths and antibiotics. Her recovery wouldnβt be quick, but everyone believed sheβd start improving soon.

βWe canβt wait to see her transformation!β SRSL wrote.
Week by week, Pebbleβs irritated skin slowly healed. By the time she had been at the rescue for a month, she was noticeably brighter and more comfortable.
βShe isnβt in pain anymore β no more cracking or bleeding. Her fur is getting soft again and growing back with adorable little spots!β the team posted.

Even though they expected she would recover, her progress still amazed everyone. Her fuzzy face and smooth skin made her almost unrecognizable compared to the pup who first arrived.
βItβs incredible what four weeks of love and good care can do!β SRSL wrote.

Not long after that, Pebble met the family she had been waiting for. She left the rescue to start her new life in a warm, loving home. What once was a neglected little dog is now a happy pup surrounded by people who adore her.
The rescue team couldnβt have wished for a better ending.
βWeβre over the moon for her,β they wrote. βPebble, the world is yours!β
