Mechanic Tries To Fix A Car — And Finds The Cutest Unexpected Passenger
Igor Stanchuk, an auto mechanic based in Tallahassee, Florida, has a special knack for diagnosing car problems — often just by listening. But no amount of experience could have prepared him for what he found inside one particular vehicle.
A customer had come in complaining about strange sloshing sounds while driving. Stanchuk had a pretty good idea of what was going on.
“She originally came in after hearing sloshing sounds while she was driving,” Stanchuk told The Dodo. “When you run the A/C, it condenses inside the cabin and passes through a drain. After a while, the drain can get clogged and water starts leaking under the floorboard.”
He began investigating the suspected leak — and that’s when he discovered the last thing he expected: a tiny frog had taken up residence inside the flooded car.
“When I saw him, it brought a smile to my face. I couldn’t stop laughing,” he said. “I love frogs.”
How the little amphibian managed to get inside remains a mystery. But one thing was certain — the soggy car floor had become his own little swamp.
Of course, the frog’s ride-share days had to come to an end.
“I placed him out in the woods, then I drained the floorboard,” Stanchuk said.
Problem solved — for both the car and its surprise passenger.
“Nothing like that has happened before,” he added. “It still baffles me how the frog actually got in the car.”
It may have been an unexpected workday detour, but for Stanchuk, it was a delightful one. And for one little frog, it was just another hop in the journey.
