Paws, Applause, and Sunshine: Weston Rotary’s Dog Show a Tail-Wagging Success

Last month, the Weston Rotary Club, supported by families, friends, and volunteers, transformed the Beach Lawns into a dog show worthy of Crufts.

As the gates opened at 10 a.m., the first through the door was a determined grandmother from a nearby village. She had arrived early to secure her granddaughter’s spot in the competitions scheduled for later in the day. Despite official instructions that registrations wouldn’t begin until 10:30, the Registration Team did what any fellow grandparent might β€” they made an exception and got her signed up.

It turned out to be a good call. As captured in the photo, hours later a very proud grandmother watched as the Mayor presented her granddaughter Sydney β€” and their dog Sadie β€” with the Runner-Up to Best in Show cup. A fitting finale to a fabulous day.

The sun shone, crowds flocked in, and the dogs β€” every size, shape, and breed β€” were nothing short of delightful.

A heartfelt thank you to the hundreds of people who came along and made the event so memorable. Your support means everything.

Thanks to your generosity, funds were raised for Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary and other Rotary charities β€” we’ll share the final total as soon as the counting is complete.

Finally, a huge thank-you to our sponsors and the tireless volunteers who make this special day possible year after year. We couldn’t do it without you.
