βWhat am I going to do …”
Boris Milicevic was out on a hike when he heard faint cries coming from deep within the woods, just off the trail. Curious and concerned, he followed the sound β and what he found stopped him in his tracks.
Huddled near a pile of scattered garbage were three tiny kittens, their wide eyes filled with fear.
βWhat am I going to do with these cats I found near the trail?β Milicevic later shared on TikTok.
At first, he hesitated. Should he wait and see if their mother would return? But the kittensβ fragile condition and the circumstances β abandoned beside trash, with no sign of a nest or nearby cat β suggested a harsher truth: they had likely been dumped.
After a quick search for their mother came up empty, Milicevic made a decision. He couldnβt walk away. He scooped up the kittens and carried them to safety.
Once home, Milicevic got to work, bottle-feeding the tiny trio and trying his best to keep them warm and comfortable. At first, their survival wasnβt certain. The smallest of the three, a fragile orange kitten, seemed especially vulnerable. But day by day, with round-the-clock care, the kittens began to gain strength.
His own cats werenβt thrilled about the new arrivals at first. But over time, they warmed up β and even took on the role of babysitters, keeping a watchful eye on the little ones.
Milicevic considered bringing the kittens to a shelter, but something held him back. Heβd started this journey β and he knew he had to see it through.
βWe just went to the vet today,β he updated followers on TikTok. βKitties are looking great! Hydrated! They gave me ointment for the little orange oneβs eye.β
The once-fragile orange kitten was now holding his own, thanks to the care and commitment of the hiker-turned-cat-dad.
When he first stumbled upon the kittens in the woods, Milicevic had no idea what to do. But driven by compassion, he stepped up β and along the way, discovered a new side of himself. His TikTok bio now reads: βWasn’t expecting to turn into a cat rescuer.β
And yet, thatβs exactly what heβs become.
