They look so different after a bath 😮
Last month, in a trailer park in South Dakota, Jordan Fiegen stumbled upon a heartbreaking sight. On a cold morning, she noticed an unusual crate and went to investigate. Inside, she discovered seven tiny puppies, huddled together in the freezing cold, their white fur matted and dirty from the previous night’s heavy rain. The water had filled the crate, and the poor pups were fighting to stay warm, but their bodies were showing signs of giving up—there were no barks, no cries, just silence.
Jordan learned that the puppies’ mama was a neglected dog owned by someone living in the trailer park. She tried to contact the owner, but no one was around, and Jordan knew that if the puppies were left outside any longer, they wouldn’t survive the cold. Without hesitation, she scooped up the pups and rushed them to safety.
Once inside her home, Jordan gently bathed the puppies to warm them up, being careful not to shock their fragile bodies. When they were clean, their transformation was astounding. Beneath the layers of dirt, the puppies’ white coats were revealed, and Jordan couldn’t help but sob as she realized how much they had endured.
“They were so close to giving up, and I just couldn’t believe they were alive,” she said, overwhelmed by emotion.
After the bath, Jordan reached out to Almost Home Canine Rescue (AHCR), which immediately stepped in to help. The puppies were given proper veterinary care, including flea treatments and deworming. They were placed with three different foster families, and it wasn’t long before their personalities began to shine through.
Gone were the lethargic, freezing puppies that Jordan had first encountered. They were now energetic, playful, and full of life—proof of the power of love, care, and warmth. The seven pups, named Bluey, Bingo, Bert, Ernie, Bear, Kona, and Nova, had transformed into happy, healthy puppies ready to find their forever homes.
“They are all so playful now,” Jordan said. “It’s amazing to see how far they’ve come. They definitely came out of their shells.”
These sweet pups will soon be available for adoption, and with their adorable personalities, there’s no doubt they’ll find loving homes in no time. Thanks to Jordan’s quick thinking and the support of Almost Home Canine Rescue, these puppies have a bright future ahead, far from the cold, cruel fate they almost suffered.
